The Department of Commerce is one of the largest department in the College and came into existence in the year 1996. To fulfill the desire of people in and ground kovilpatti, the introduction of B.Com programme on 6th September,1996 in the campus of Nadar Higher Secondary School with 35 students of 24 Girls and 11 Boys. In the excellent academic year 2002 – 2003, the Post Graduation Programme (M.Com) started with 19 students of 16 Girls and 3 Boys. In the successful academic year 2009-2010, B.Com with Computer Application Programme started with 46 students of 26 Girls and 20 Boys. B.Com(CA) programme successfully ran from 2009-10 to 2015-2016.
The Department offers Certificate Courses on Tally with GST and Spoken English Class to enhance the employability of the student.
The Department offers value added and co-curricular programs. There are remedial classes organized for deserving students. The Royal Commerce Department has its loyal alumni found in all spheres of profession. They are the great inspirations to the present students and our alumni prove themselves to be precious assets to the department through their support in all our endeavours.
